Permanent General Description/Position Purpose Join a vibrant and purpose-driven community at Shippensburg University , located in the scenic Cumberland Valley and spread across a beautiful 210-acre campus with over 40 buildings. We offer a dynamic academic environment with 45 undergraduate, 22 graduate, and 2 doctoral programs. Be part of a team that values innovation, impact, and shared success. This is a .25 FTE 12-month. Attend practices and competitions. Instruct student-athletes in sport fundamentals, skill development, training, and conditioning. Evaluate individual and team strengths, abilities, progress, and performance, and recommend adjustments as needed. Monitor student-athlete academic performance and support efforts that promote retention and graduation. Assist with team discipline and ensure adherence to program rules and expectations. Support scouting activities and evaluate prospective student-athletes. Assist with student-athlete recruitment and recommend equipment and supply needs. Participate in fundraising, alumni relations, and community engagement activities that promote the program. Collaborate with marketing and communications staff on publicity and promotional efforts. Ensure appropriate safety precautions are followed during team activities. Work with athletic trainers to support proper medical, physical training, and student-athlete care. Maintain annual First Aid, Safety, and CPR certifications and complete required NCAA educational modules. Attend athletics department staff meetings and perform other related duties as assigned by the Head Coach. A full job description will be provided at the time of the scheduled interview. Minimum Qualifications Qualified candidates will have one year of coaching experience (or the equivalent) as well as demonstrated skills in developing and motivating student-athletes for athletic, academic and personal success. Applicants must possess effective communication skills and the demonstrated ability to work with a diverse population. Successful performance in an on-campus interview is required. Preferred Qualifications A bachelor's degree is preferred. Advanced knowledge in all volleyball skills, video analysis, volleyball statistics, and recruiting software is preferred.
