Position Purpose To participate as part of a decision-making team (coaching staff) under the direction of the head coach in planning, coaching, recruiting, administering, and promoting the Women's Rowing program within NCAA, EAWRC, Ivy League, and institutional standards. The Assistant Coach plays a critical role in achieving the overall goals of the Women's Rowing program by providing important recommendations, suggestions, and decisions regarding game strategies, line-ups, priority listing of recruits, etc., as well as offering initiative and independent judgment (e.g., in providing coaching instruction, evaluating, and communicating with prospective recruits and their parents, and representing the women's rowing program to constituents). Description Dartmouth College seeks an Assistant Coach for Women's Crew. This is a full-time position with benefits. The successful candidate will assist the Head Coach with all areas of the program including recruiting, training/regatta planning and coaching, individual skill development and administrative tasks. Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience required. Six years experience as an athlete and/or coach in a competitive rowing program required; intercollegiate experience preferred. Excellent communication skills and the ability to recruit effectively within the Ivy League philosophy of no athletic grants-in-aid and highly selective admissions standards. Proven ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituents in a diverse community.
