Job Description
NextGen Elite Basketball Katy, TX Part-Time | Seasonal (Fall-Winter) About NextGen Elite NextGen Elite is a competitive youth basketball organization dedicated to developing student-athletes both on and off the court. Our program emphasizes skill development, basketball IQ, character, teamwork, and competitive excellence while providing exposure through local and national AAU competition. We are seeking a passionate and experienced Head Coach to lead our boys AAU basketball teams and help our athletes reach their full potential. Position Overview The Head Coach will oversee player development, practice planning, game strategy, and team culture for our AAU program. This position requires strong leadership, communication skills, and a commitment to mentoring young athletes. Teams Boys 6th Grade Team (Class of 2032) Boys 7th Grade Team (Class of 2031) Boys 8th Grade Team (Class of 2030) Boys 9th Grade Team (Class of 2029) Key Responsibilities Plan and lead 2-3 practices per week Teach individual skills, team concepts, and basketball fundamentals Develop players' basketball IQ and decision-making Coach weekend league games and AAU tournaments Create and implement game strategies and player rotations Foster a positive, disciplined, and competitive team environment Communicate effectively with players, parents, and program leadership Serve as a positive role model both on and off the court Assist with player evaluations and talent development Support long-term athlete growth and exposure opportunities Qualifications Previous coaching experience preferred (AAU, youth, middle school, high school, or collegiate levels) Playing experience at the high school, college, or professional level is a plus Strong understanding of basketball fundamentals, player development, and game strategy Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills Passion for mentoring and developing young athletes Reliable transportation and availability for weekend tournaments Ability to successfully pass a background check Compensation Competitive compensation based on experience.
