QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
- Three (3) years' experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities.
- Computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (including Word and Excel) and web browsers.
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in physical education, exercise science, sport, recreation management, or a related field.
- Ability to supervise and train employees including organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments.
Training or Technical Skills:
o Public service oriented while fostering good relationships with faculty/staff/students, and the community. o Ability to stay abreast of current and developing trends (audio, video, data). o Proficient with Google Workspace tools like Docs, Sheets, and Drive to create, share, and manage work.Special Demands:

JOB DESCRIPTION
The position will report to the Men's Basketball Head Coach and Athletic Director for job responsibilities and other College related activities as outlined in the Policies and Procedures Manual. Essential duties include but are not limited to the following:- Assist the head coach with management and directing the Men's Basketball program.
- Keep up-to-date statistics and provide them to the appropriate entity.
- Make all arrangements for team travel for away games and recruiting.
- Arrange team travel for away games and recruiting.
- Assist the head coach in the development of practice and game schedules.
- Scout opponents and develop team scouting reports.
- Assist in planning strategy for games.
- Assist with supervision of dorm and cafeteria.
- Assist with the prevention and treatment of athletic injuries.
- Develop a recruitment plan and actively recruit student-athletes.
- Actively participate in a plan to enhance community relations.
- Conduct camps to provide community service to the youth in our service area.
- Track the progress of each player in all classes.
- Teach the fundamentals skills and drills.
- Develop a weight training and fitness program.
- Assist in the development and implementation of study hall and require all students to attend.
- Establish and maintain an ethical and moral code of behavior and living that is expected of the players on and off campus.
- Performing tasks as requested by the Head Coach or Athletic Director to include, but not limited to, camps/clinics, skills, or concession stands.
- Serve as an instructor in the PHED Program or serve as an administrator in another area with comparable duties.
- Serve as visible representatives of the College in the community, modeling professionalism and integrity while promoting the values of Angelina College.
- Intentionally develop and demonstrate soft skills, such as communication, teamwork, leadership, and resilience, through interactions with students, families, and community partners.
- Act as public-facing ambassadors of their programs and the College, engaging in outreach, events, and service opportunities that strengthen community relationships and student success.
- Document public relations and community engagement activities for the athletic administration to support transparency, planning, and recognition of efforts.
