Assistant Tennis Coach Saint Marys Hall - 3.8 San Antonio, TX Job Details Part-time 3 hours ago Qualifications CPR Certification First Aid Certification Educational compliance and regulation understanding Full Job Description Position Description Saint Mary's Hall is seeking a passionate, energetic Assistant Tennis Coach who strives to build a highly competitive and challenging program for the SMH student-athletes while supporting the school's mission. Saint Mary's Hall is committed to offering rewarding experiences for the students while maintaining high academic standards. An SMH coach is an individual who seeks excellence daily, while teaching life skills that will benefit the student -athletes within the program for many years to come. Saint Mary's Hall offers Tennis at the Lower School, Middle School, and Varsity levels. Coaches will be assigned based on experience and need. Responsibilities The Assistant Tennis Coach is responsible for assisting in planning and administering all aspects of the Tennis Program as assigned. Under the direction of the Head Tennis Coach, the Assistant Tennis Coach should model and maintain an exemplary studentathlete concept and the personal development of a studentathlete whose on and offcourt behavior reflects favorably upon the Saint Mary's Hall community in general and the athletics program. Responsible for providing coaching and administrative assistance to the Head Coach in all areas of the Tennis program. Participates in public relations activities. Ensures the highest professional standards and behavior regarding adherence to
SPC/ISAL
rules and regulations. Counsel team members in academic, disciplinary, and personal matters while adhering to Saint Mary's Hall and FERPA guidelines. Participates in annual continuing education programs as assigned. Coordinates and assists administration with home and away meet day activities (schedule practices, setup and breakdown of equipment, personnel, meet setup, etc.) Works with Director of Communications to communicate the accomplishments and endeavors of the team, both individuals and as a whole Assists in special events and meets, championships, fundraisers, and/or clinics, including, but not limited to, major fundraisers, camps, and/or clinics. Athletic Department game day administration as assigned. Assist and maintain inventory at the beginning and end of the academic year. Assist with all other duties as assigned. Level of assignment based on qualifications and need. Qualifications Thorough knowledge of fundamentals, technical aspects, and strategy for Tennis Ability to attract and retain qualified athletes and to facilitate timely progress toward graduation. Effective oral and written communication skills Ability to learn, apply, and adhere to
SPC/ISAL
rules and regulations. Ability to interact well with officials, coaches, parents, and the public. Ability to work with students of all backgrounds and mentor studentathletes. Demonstrated leadership skills. Ability to work collaboratively with other departments on campus. Excellent communication, organizational, and administrative skills Ability to travel and work flexible hours, including weekend and evening hours. Must currently hold, or be able to obtain, CPR/First Aid certification prior to completing the hiring process. (The school will cover the cost of training if needed.) Physical Requirements/Working Environment Will require travel to various events to include overnight trips. Will work nights or weekends. Works mostly outdoors in any number of elements Will involve frequent bending, moving, lifting, and carrying materials less than 50 lbs. Operates various types of office equipment. Work in a rigorous academic environment dealing with a wide variety of physical and intellectual challenges, deadlines, and a varied and diverse array of contacts.
