RATE OF PAY
$21-$26 PER HOUR (D.O.E.)
THIS IS A PART TIME YEAR-ROUND POSITION JOB SUMMARY
The Head Swim Coach is responsible for representing and maintaining the standards of the Recreation Department by monitoring the youth pre-comp swim team. Additionally, duties may include oversight of workouts and coaching of the Masters swim program and assisting with upper level swim lessons as assigned. The Head Coach will be responsible for the smooth operation of the swim programs, workouts and regional meets.
TYPICAL JOB DUTIES
Provides a fun & safe learning environment for all swimmers to progress. Schedules to work with various age groups. Works with others to facilitate in-services for staff training. Meets parents/children on arrival and directs them to appropriate class areas; makes class changes as necessary. Monitors and evaluates coaches on an ongoing basis. Provides customer service to patrons by answering questions, explaining progress and/or problems, and addressing behavioral problems promptly. Works with other area pools to coordinate pre-competition style swim meets and awards.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required :
CPR, First Aid, and AED Certification.
Preferred :
Lifeguard experience & certification. Coaching experience
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed primarily outdoors in and around a pool. Possible exposure to chemicals used for pool maintenance. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to low.
