Job Summary This position plays a critical role in supporting Augusta Health's mission and advancing departmental goals through measurable performance indicators and service excellence. This position contributes to a collaborative, patient-centered environment and helps drive outcomes aligned with organizational priorities. The Performance Improvement Coach works with the Director of Project and Performance Management to lead organizational improvement initiatives by facilitating Lean/Six Sigma and process redesign implementations. The primary responsibility is to lead and support cross-departmental process optimizations and innovative transformations of existing operations to promote continuous improvement of operational efficiency and patient outcomes. This role will coordinate the investigation, re-design, planning, execution, and follow-up required of improvement projects, while coaching and demonstrating Lean methodologies, the principles of Change Management, Project Management, and other continuous improvement and design tools. The Performance Improvement Coach collaborates with management and frontline staff to drive performance improvement efforts, foster a culture of innovation, and ensure the successful implementation of process enhancements. In addition, this position may serve to manage more traditional projects, leading and facilitating waterfall project plans and/or more Agile implementations. The PI Coach will be responsible for tracking and reporting performance metrics, resolving team challenges, reporting on project plans and progress, and ensuring that improvement initiatives are sustained over time. Essential Job Duties Adheres to all Augusta Health Policies and Procedures and actively promotes Continuous Improvement and its activities and services to others. Presents, facilitates and leads assigned process improvement events using methods of culture appropriate team building, team energizing, data gathering and analysis, problem solving, project management and state of the art presentation and platform skills. Seeks and evaluates process improvement and Lean Enterprise information, materials, and methods to match specific organizational needs as outlined by management and adapts them to use in the execution of process improvement events. Participates in and coordinates the development of event Charters and scheduling of the events. Works with departmental management to assure appropriate participation and support. Assists in locating and reserving meeting locations and coordinating the delivery of services and materials necessary for a successful event Assists with development of overall Continuous Improvement activities including accomplishments, participation, projected activities, and anticipated needs. Provides event follow-up to monitor the progress of planned improvement implementation to assure timely action, appropriate management support, and achievement of expected benefits. Uses appropriate measurement, analysis, and evaluation methods to accurately identify and document process improvements, tracking and reporting Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Develops reports of overall Continuous Improvement activities including accomplishments, participation, projected activities, and anticipated needs. Coordinates with related departments and functions to assure appropriate information flow and understanding of overall process improvement direction. Prepares purchase information for departmental management review to identify materials, software and other resources required for effective implementation of Continuous Improvement. Performs all other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications Education:
Bachelor's degree required and/or equivalent experience
Licensure/Certification:
Lean/Six Sigma Green Belt certification in first year
Experience:
Two (2) or more years of
Lean, Continuous Improvement, or Process Excellence Practitioner Driver's License:
