Varsity Girls Basketball Head Coach Poultney High School - Seasonal (Winter 2026-2027) Poultney High School is looking for an inspiring and dedicated Head Girls Basketball Coach to lead our program. We are seeking a candidate who can build a competitive team culture while prioritizing the personal and athletic growth of our student-athletes.

Key ResponsibilitiesProgram Direction:

Design and execute a comprehensive plan for the Varsity program, including off-season workouts and pre-season tryouts.

Technical Instruction:

Teach fundamental basketball skills, advanced tactical plays, and defensive strategies tailored to the team's strengths.

Student-Athlete Welfare:

Monitor academic progress and ensure athletes adhere to the school's code of conduct.

Collaboration:

Work closely with the Junior Varsity coaching staff to ensure a cohesive developmental pipeline from the lower grades up to Varsity.

Administrative Duties:

Coordinate with the Athletic Director for scheduling, equipment inventory, and team travel.

QualificationsExperience:

Prior coaching experience at the high school level is preferred; significant playing experience at the collegiate level is a plus.

Strategic Mindset:

Proven ability to manage game-clock situations and adapt tactics in real-time.

Certifications:

Must meet all Vermont Principals Association (VPA) requirements, including: NFHS Fundamentals of CoachingCurrent CPR/First Aid/AED certificationConcussion in Sports certification

Communication:

Strong interpersonal skills to effectively engage with parents, faculty, and local media.
