Swim Instructor

Job Summary Under the supervision of the Aquatic Director and Aquatics Program Manager, a swim instructor will teach group lessons to students aged 2-13 and follow Samena's swim curriculum. Swim instructors will use their swimming knowledge, along with the knowledge given to them during instructor training to ensure a fun and safe swimming environment for all students.

Available Shifts:

4-7pm Mondays and Wednesdays 4-7pm Tuesdays 4-7pm Thursdays 10am-12pm Saturdays 9:30-10am Saturdays (Parent/Tot Instructor) Typical Duties and Responsibilities Teach swim lessons to the standard taught in instructor training Caution swimmers regarding unsafe practices and safety hazards in a friendly and helpful manner Follow emergency action plan and procedures established in the event of an emergency Maintain order in the pool and adjoining areas Provide excellent customer service to all members and guests using the facility Ensure safe, quality swim lessons for all assigned students Write quality reports cards for swim lesson students Other duties as assigned Qualifications Current American Red Cross Certifications (or equivalent) CPR for the Professional Rescuer First Aid These trainings will be provided by the Samena Club if currently uncertified Strong communication skills Previous Swimming Experience (no swim lesson experience required; we provide paid training) Excellent Customer service skills Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Ability to conduct oneself in a professional manner Knowledge and skill in the application of CPR & First Aid Knowledge of effective safety standards and precautions related to swimming Ability to remain calm in any emergency situation Ability to work a regular, consistent schedule Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing Ability to receive direction and to follow oral and written instructions About us Samena Swim & Recreation Club is a family-friendly nonprofit membership organization that has been serving East Bellevue for more than 60 years. Our facility includes a fitness room, playground, classrooms, tennis courts, a seasonal wading pool, a year-round 25-yard, 6 lane outdoor pool and a year-round 25-meter, 6 lane indoor pool.
