A Coach works with individual athletes or with sports teams to develop skills and improve teamwork and competitive performance. Runs practice sessions and physical conditioning programs; assesses the strengths and weaknesses of players; plans strategies for games; motivates and encourage players and teaches good sportsmanship.
En Avant Academy of Dance is seeking a knowledgeable, energetic hip hop instructor for a weekly teaching block that includes Hip Hop Level 3/4 and our Hip Hop Performance Group. This position is ideal for a teacher who can provide strong, current hip hop training while sharing our firm commitment to wholesome, age-appropriate music and choreography.
WEEKLY SCHEDULE
Wednesday 6:15pm-7:00pm — Hip Hop 3/4, ages 10-14 Wednesday 7:00pm-7:40pm — Hip Hop Performance Group The 2026-2027 season is currently underway and continues through June 2027.
OUR MUSIC AND CHOREOGRAPHY STANDARD
En Avant provides wholesome, family-friendly dance education. All music, movement, themes, and choreography must be appropriate for young dancers and for performances in family and community settings. Clean music means more than using an edited version of a song. Music should be appropriate in its overall lyrics, message, and subject matter. Choreography should be exciting, confident, and stylistically authentic without suggestive movement or mature themes. We are looking for an instructor who can enthusiastically support this standard while giving dancers a hip hop education that feels current, challenging, and fun.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide engaging, progressive hip hop instruction for intermediate and advanced dancers Develop musicality, coordination, confidence, performance quality, and age-appropriate stylistic range Plan weekly classes that balance foundational technique, skill development, combinations, and choreography Select clean, family-friendly music for all classes and performances Create age-appropriate choreography for both classes Prepare performance-group dancers for studio showcases and community events Adapt instruction for dancers with different strengths and experience levels Build a positive class culture in which dancers feel supported and challenged Communicate professionally with the studio director, staff, dancers, and families Arrive prepared and maintain dependable weekly attendance throughout the season
QUALIFICATIONS
Strong hip hop training and performance background Knowledge of hip hop foundations, technique, musicality, and choreography Experience teaching preteen and teenage dancers Ability to choreograph polished, engaging group routines Clear understanding of—and genuine alignment with—wholesome, family-friendly music and movement standards Encouraging teaching style with effective classroom-management skills Dependable transportation to Burlington and the ability to commit consistently throughout the season Prior experience coaching a performance group or preparing dancers for public performances is strongly preferred.

Pay:
