Summary We are seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our high school football program as an assistant coach. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the game, a commitment to the development of student-athletes, and the ability to foster a positive and inclusive team environment. This role will support the head coach in various aspects of team management, skill development, and game strategy. Responsibilities Assist the head coach in planning and conducting practices, ensuring all athletes receive appropriate training and skill development. Provide instruction on fundamental skills, game strategies, and techniques to enhance individual and team performance. Help organize and supervise team activities, including games, practices, and team-building events. Monitor and evaluate player performance, providing constructive feedback and support to help athletes improve. Promote sportsmanship, teamwork, and a positive attitude among players, coaching staff, and parents. Collaborate with the head coach to develop game plans and strategies for competitions. Assist in maintaining team equipment and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school administration regarding team policies, schedules, and player progress. Attend coaching clinics, workshops, and meetings to stay updated on coaching techniques and regulations. Other duties as assigned Requirements Previous coaching experience in football or a related sport at the high school or youth level is preferred. Strong knowledge of fastpitch softball rules, techniques, and strategies. Ability to effectively communicate and connect with athletes, parents, and staff. Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive team culture. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. First Aid and CPR certification is required. Availability to attend practices, games, and team events, including evenings and weekends. A passion for teaching and mentoring young athletes in their personal and athletic development.
