Open until filled Build a Competitive and Positive Wrestling Program In the Nine Mile Falls School District, this role supports students through athletics by building a program that emphasizes effort, accountability, and growth. The wrestling coach leads student-athletes in developing skills, discipline, and resilience while representing the school and community with integrity. This position is responsible for planning and supervising practices, coaching during competitions, and creating a team environment where students feel challenged, supported, and connected. The season is fast-paced and visible, requiring consistent presence, clear communication, and strong coordination with students, families, and school staff.Salary:
The salary range for the position is: Min. $4,745 to Max.$6,935. Salary placement will be at Step 0 of the Coaches Agreement unless documentation of experience is received per the Collective Bargaining Agreement. (1 or 2 sentence summary of position) This is a seasonal coaching position responsible for leading the school's wrestling program, supporting student-athlete development, and maintaining a safe and structured team environment. The role is supervised by the Athletic Director and occurs primarily outside the regular school day, with time commitment varying by season schedule and compensated through a stipend.Position Reports To Athletic Director, Devin Bauer Season:
Winter 26/27 Valid only if student numbers permit by contract YES NO Primary Job Functions Plan and supervise practices that develop wrestling skills, conditioning, and safe techniques Coach and supervise student-athletes during competitions, including transportation expectations as assigned Maintain a safe environment and provide appropriate supervision of students at all times Promote sportsmanship, accountability, and appropriate conduct consistent with school and district expectations Communicate effectively with student-athletes, families, and school staff regarding schedules, expectations, and program updates Ensure compliance with district policies, building expectations, and applicable athletic regulations (e.g., league/WIAA) Coordinate and maintain equipment, uniforms, and practice/competition spaces Monitor student eligibility and support academic expectations in coordination with school staff Attend required meetings, trainings, and school-related events connected to the program Perform other related duties as assigned within the scope of the positionQUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Required Qualifications (Traits, Education, Experience, Training, physical requirements, etc.): Minimum age of 21 at the time of hire in accordance with Washington Interscholastic Activities Association guidance Successful completion of background check, including WSP/FBI fingerprint clearance, prior to working with students Current First Aid/CPR/AED certification, or ability to obtain prior to the start of the season Ability to obtain and maintain required WIAA certifications, including applicable training/clock hours Knowledge of safe and effective coaching practices and techniques Ability to supervise students and maintain a safe and structured environment Desired Qualifications Previous coaching experience at the secondary, collegiate, or club level Experience working with school-aged students Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships and communicate effectively with students, families, and staff Employment Requirements If an offer of employment is made, new employees must complete a background check for criminal history, including a fingerprint check by the Washington State Patrol and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
