Advantage Gymnastics Academy is looking for an experienced, energetic, and dependable Recreational Gymnastics Coach to join our coaching team. At Advantage, our goal goes beyond teaching gymnastics skills. We strive to create healthy, happy, and confident athletes while helping children develop strength, discipline, resilience, and a lifelong love of movement. Our recreational program serves children of a variety of ages and abilities and includes traditional gymnastics as well as specialty programs, camps, clinics, open gyms, and events. What We're Looking For We are looking for a coach who genuinely enjoys working with children and is confident teaching gymnastics in a positive, structured, and safe environment. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic, reliable, communicates well, and works collaboratively with other coaches and staff. Previous gymnastics coaching experience is strongly preferred. Knowledge of gymnastics progressions, proper technique, spotting, and class management is highly valued. Responsibilities Coach recreational gymnastics classes for a variety of ages and skill levels Teach safe and appropriate gymnastics progressions and techniques Provide appropriate spotting and hands-on instruction when needed Create a positive, encouraging, and well-managed class environment Help athletes build confidence, strength, coordination, and gymnastics skills Adapt instruction to meet the needs and abilities of individual athletes Maintain a strong focus on athlete safety Communicate professionally and positively with athletes, parents, and coworkers Work collaboratively with other coaches and program leadership Assist with equipment setup, breakdown, and maintaining an organized gym Participate in camps, clinics, open gyms, Kids Night Out, and other special events as needed Qualifications Previous recreational or competitive gymnastics coaching experience preferred Strong understanding of basic gymnastics skills and progressions Experience spotting gymnastics skills preferred Comfortable working with children of different ages and abilities Positive, energetic, patient, and dependable Strong communication and classroom-management skills Ability to work independently while also being part of a coaching team Willingness to complete required safety certifications and background screening Schedule We are particularly looking for coaches with afternoon, evening, and Saturday availability . Our busiest season is September through June, and additional hours may be available through camps, clinics, events, and other programs. Why Advantage?
