Reports To:
Athletic Director Position Summary Waunakee Community School District is seeking a positive and energetic Winter Cheer Coach to lead and support our student cheer team during the winter athletic season. The coach will be responsible for building school spirit, supporting athletic teams, and developing students' cheer, stunt, and performance skills in a safe and inclusive environment. Responsibilities Plan and lead practices focused on cheer techniques and game-day performance Prepare the team to support winter athletic events (e.g., basketball games, tournaments) Choreograph and teach routines, chants, and sideline cheers Supervise students at practices, games, and any competitions Promote teamwork, school spirit, and sportsmanship Ensure all safety guidelines and district/WIAA regulations are followed Communicate effectively with students, families, and school staff Assist with scheduling, uniforms, and program organization Qualifications Prior cheerleading experience required; coaching experience preferred Knowledge of cheer techniques, stunting safety, and choreography Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) Compensation Stipend based on district salary schedule and experience
