Job Summary We are seeking an energetic and dedicated Varsity Coed Soccer Coach to lead our high school soccer team to success! This dynamic role involves inspiring student-athletes, developing their skills, and fostering a positive team environment. The ideal candidate will bring passion for sports coaching, excellent communication skills, and experience working with youth. As a key member of our athletic staff, you will motivate students to achieve their best both on and off the field while promoting teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal growth. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a lasting impact in a vibrant school community. Duties Plan and execute engaging soccer practices that improve individual skills and team strategies based on the philosophy of Newman Catholic Schools. Lead the varsity coed soccer team during games, providing clear instructions and encouragement Develop training programs that incorporate sport-specific techniques, conditioning, and tactical awareness Foster a positive, inclusive environment that promotes teamwork, respect, and sportsmanship among students Monitor player safety and well-being during practices and matches, utilizing first aid and CPR skills when necessary Communicate regularly with students, parents, and school staff regarding team progress, schedules, and concerns Manage behavior on the field through effective behavior management strategies to ensure a respectful playing environment Complete the WIAA rules video & exam yearly. Follow rules and regulations of the school, conference and the WIAA. Attend camps, clinics, seminars and in-service programs in order to improve coaching skills and stay current with new trends in coaching, training, and safety procedures. Attend school, conference and WIAA coaches meetings. Supervise use of equipment and make sure equipment is taken care of for your sport. Skills Proven experience in soccer coaching with a strong understanding of game rules and tactics Demonstrated ability to work effectively with children and teenagers in a coaching or teaching capacity Knowledge of sports-specific training instruction and physical education principles Experience working with youth in sports teams or educational settings Strong communication skills for client (student and parent) interaction and team leadership Certifications in first aid, CPR, AED operation, and child safety protocols required or preferred Ability to manage behavior constructively while fostering motivation and confidence among players Familiarity with health club or gym environments can enhance training sessions Join us as we cultivate talented athletes while nurturing character development through sport!
