PELHAM CITY SCHOOLS BOARD OF EDUCATION JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title:
Non-Faculty Band Assistant (Seasonal) Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Experience working with band programs, music programs, student activities, or related areas preferred. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with students, staff, parents, and community members. Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and travel as required by the band schedule. Must successfully complete all required background checks and district onboarding requirements. Must meet all district requirements for working with students and participating in school-sponsored activities. Performance will be evaluated by the Band Director and Principal in accordance with district expectations and program needs. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assist the Band Director with band activities, rehearsals, performances, competitions, camps, and special events. Help supervise students during rehearsals, performances, travel, and other band-related activities as assigned. Assist with loading, unloading, transporting, and maintaining instruments, uniforms, equipment, and supplies. Assist with setup and breakdown for rehearsals, performances, competitions, and special events. Support student safety and welfare during all band activities. Help maintain organization of band facilities, storage areas, uniforms, instruments, and equipment. Assist with attendance, logistics, and communication as directed by the Band Director. Model professionalism, positive behavior, and appropriate interactions with students at all times. Follow all Pelham City Schools policies, procedures, and expectations regarding student supervision and conduct. Maintain confidentiality regarding students, staff, and district operations. Attend required meetings, training sessions, and compliance activities. Communicate effectively with the Band Director and other school personnel regarding program needs and activities. Non-faculty band assistants shall work under the direction and supervision of the Band Director or designated school administrator. Non-faculty band assistants may not be the sole supervisor of students unless specifically authorized by district policy and applicable regulations. Perform other duties as assigned by the Band Director, Principal, or Superintendent's designee. Terms of Employment This position is a temporary or seasonal assignment and does not constitute employment as a certified or classified employee of Pelham City Schools. Continued assignment is contingent upon satisfactory performance, program needs, compliance with district requirements, and approval by the Superintendent and Board of Education when applicable.
