Applicants selected for interviews will be contacted by Human Resources or the employing department Start Date Upon receipt of qualified applicant Job Type Faculty Job Opening Department School of Sciences Position Type Full Time Tenure Track Yes Job Summary The Full-Time Faculty Member in Biology is responsible for providing high-quality instruction in undergraduate biology and related disciplines, fostering student learning and academic success, and contributing to the mission of Pacific Union College. This position teaches assigned courses, advises and mentors students, participates in curriculum development and assessment activities, and engages in departmental, institutional, and professional service. Faculty members are expected to maintain academic expertise in their discipline, support experiential learning opportunities, and integrate faith, learning, and service consistent with the College's Seventh-day Adventist educational mission. The successful candidate collaborates with colleagues to advance student achievement, promote scientific inquiry, and contribute to a positive and academically rigorous learning environment. Desirable Qualifications Ph.D. in Biology or a related field; a background in genetics or molecular biology is preferred.

Minimum of one (1) year of undergraduate teaching experience in biology or a related discipline

Demonstrated ability to provide effective undergraduate instruction and support student learning.

Ability to guide students conducting undergraduate research

Commitment to academic excellence, student mentorship, and the mission and values of Pacific Union College.

Experience advising, mentoring, or supporting students in an academic setting preferred.

Experience with curriculum development, assessment, or scholarly/professional engagement preferred. Compensation Salary; Placement of the new hire within the salary pay grade is dependent on qualifications and professional teaching experience. The pay grade assigned to this position ranges from $58,797 - $78,626 annually.
