Qualifications:
This position requires a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics or closely related area. We are looking for candidates with postdoctoral experience, an established research program and successful university-level teaching.
Responsibilities:
This tenure-track position carries responsibilities in the areas of teaching (general education and major courses; regular weekly teaching load is 12 credit hours), scholarship (research and grants), and service (student advising, serving on department, college, and university committees). The Department:
The Department of Mathematics and Statistics consists of 18 full-time faculty, 13 full-time equivalent lecturers, and around 120 math majors. We offer 4 options in the Bachelor's degree: General Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Mathematics Education, and Statistics, as well as MS in Mathematics and MS in Data Science and Analytics. Current research interests in the Applied Mathematics group include: Fluid Dynamics, Biomathematics, Nonlinear PDE's, Symmetries, and Conservation Laws.
