This position is thus both student-facing and community-facing, and will involve student advising and recruiting responsibilities, as well as oversight for music therapy clinical fieldwork and internships. Along with teaching and program-building, this position also supports active involvement in research and professional scholarship.

TYPICAL ACTIVITIES

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Evidence of strong professional clinical and supervision experience Successful teaching experience at the university level An active publication record in scholarship/research Participation in regional and/or national professional organizations Membership in the American Music Therapy Association Evidence of commitment to diversity in teaching, research, and clinical practice Excellent interpersonal, musical, and communication skills, both written and verbal Evidence of scholarly activity, publication, and innovation is valued. Evidence of exemplary undergraduate-level teaching and leadership experience at the program level is preferred and should be noted in application.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Degree in hand by time of appointment Master's Degree in Music Therapy required; Music Therapy Board Certification (MT-BC) required

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Ph.D. in Music Therapy Evidence of scholarly activity, publication, and innovation is valued. Evidence of exemplary graduate-level teaching and leadership experience at program level is preferred and should be noted in application.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS

The person holding this position is considered a 'mandated reporter' under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083 as a condition of employment.
