Position Summary The Trinity College Public Policy and Law Program seeks applications for a tenure-track assistant professor with a focus on health policy, broadly defined to include policy domains that shape health or health equity. Our unique interdisciplinary program unites policy analysis and legal studies to examine critical societal issues. We seek candidates with the interest and ability to teach advanced undergraduate courses in their area of research expertise, courses on health policy, and an introduction to US public policy. Trinity is a highly selective, independent, nonsectarian liberal arts institution located in the capital city of Hartford, Connecticut. The college maintains a rigorous academic profile complemented by a vibrant co-curricular program. With more than 2,100 full-time undergraduate students, representing forty-three states and ninety-one countries, we consider our location in a culturally and socioeconomically diverse capital city to be among Trinity's most distinctive assets; and we cultivate strong connections with our surrounding neighbors and with institutions and organizations throughout Hartford and the region. As a preeminent liberal arts college in an urban setting, Trinity College prepares students to be bold, independent thinkers who lead transformative lives. The teaching load is 2/2 for the first two years (and 3/2 thereafter), with a one-semester research leave every fourth year. The successful candidate will be eligible for start-up funds, ongoing annual research funds, and funds toward conference travel. Qualifications Evidence of scholarly promise and teaching effectiveness is required. A Ph.D. in Public Policy, Sociology, Economics, Public Health, Health Policy, or a related field should be in hand by August 2027. Compensation Competitive salary and benefits, plus start-up expense fund.
