Assistant Professor of Computer Science (Tenure-Track)

The Department of Computer Science at Eastern Connecticut State University is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the Assistant Professor of Computer Science (Tenure Track) position. Applicants must have a strong commitment to teaching excellence, scholarship, student advisement, and departmental, university and community service. Eastern is especially interested in faculty with demonstrated excellence in teaching computer science in a liberal arts curriculum and sensitivity to diverse populations and perspectives. The department is seeking individuals with expertise in one or more of the following areas: Software Engineering, Computer Architecture, Computer Algorithms, Design and Implementation of Programming Languages, and Operating Systems.

Position Description:

The applicant is expected to teach undergraduate computer science courses at all levels. The workload is equivalent to 12 credit hours per semester. Responsibilities for the position also include curriculum development, research, undergraduate student research mentoring, advising, and service to the department.

Qualifications:

The candidate must have: Ph.D. in Computer Science or a closely related field, completed before August 2027. Commitment to undergraduate education and scholarly research in a dynamic discipline and a liberal arts environment. Demonstrated excellence or strong potential to teach Java Programming and upper-level courses in either Software Engineering, Computer Architecture, Computer Algorithms, Design and Implementation of Programming Languages, or Operating Systems.

Ability to teach core courses as well as develop specialized electives.

Assistant Professor of Latin American History

Position Description:

The History Department of Eastern Connecticut State University, Connecticut's public liberal arts university, enthusiastically invites applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor in Latin American History. The research field of specialization is open. In addition to teaching introductory world history survey courses, the selected candidate will also teach a range of upper division Latin American history courses that will serve the Latin American Studies Program. They will also offer courses for Eastern's liberal arts core curriculum, which includes interdisciplinary seminars. Preference will be given to candidates who will be able to contribute to the department's digital history program and assist in the university's community engagement programs.

Assistant Professor of Psychological Science

Position Description:

The Department of Psychological Science is pleased to announce a tenure-track Assistant Professor position beginning in August 2027. Eastern is Connecticut's only public liberal arts university, and Psychology is among the largest majors on campus. This position requires teaching courses in our Industrial-Organizational Psychology Concentration (e.g., Industrial-Organizational Psychology, Groups & Teams, Leadership), the department's Research Methods sequence (Behavioral Science Statistics, Research Methods I & II) as well as meeting other departmental needs (e.g., General Psychology, courses in the Eastern's Liberal Arts Core, and courses in the candidate's specialty area). This position will support the Physical Education program through our Groups & Teams course and our graduate program in HR Management. There is potential for the candidate to contribute to development of stackable Graduate Certificate Programs in Management and related fields/specializations (e.g. Healthcare, HR).

Candidates with research and practice interests involving AI implementation will be given preference, but candidates from all areas of I-O will be considered. Candidates should demonstrate potential for teaching excellence at the undergraduate level, especially with first-generation students. Those willing to mentor students in their research are especially encouraged to apply. Candidates will be expected to contribute to the service needs of the Department and University.

Qualifications:

PhD in Industrial-Organizational Psychology, or related field (ABD considered but PhD needs to be in hand by August 2027).

Our growing program currently has opportunities in pediatric, psychiatric, leadership, community, geriatric, maternity and evidence-based practice nursing. The department of Health Sciences and Nursing is committed to fostering an inclusive, collaborative learning environment that prepares graduates to meet evolving healthcare needs. Faculty are expected to support innovation in nursing education and contribute to the continued development of a high-quality baccalaureate program. The primary responsibility of Eastern Connecticut State University's Health Sciences and Nursing Department faculty is teaching across didactic, clinical, laboratory, and simulation settings, with a workload expectation of 12 FLCs per semester, while also serving the department through curriculum development, nursing and health science research, program and student evaluation, academic advising, and participation in professional service activities. Faculty are evaluated yearly on teaching, service, research and creative activity, and professional activity.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Unencumbered RN license (CT eligible by start date)

  • Minimum of 5 years clinical nursing experience in relevant clinical area
  • Minimum of 1 year teaching experience within academic nursing education
  • Evidence of scholarly productivity
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certified Nurse Educator (CNE)
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems
    Candidates must meet all clinical agency requirements, including documentation of immunizations (MMR, Hepatitis B), TB screening, and current CPR certification at the time of employment.
