Job Description

Integrated Studies, Adjunct Faculty Florida Gulf Coast University Job Summary Florida Gulf Coast University is a comprehensive university dedicated to quality education, research, and service. All Adjunct Faculty are expected to be excellent teachers, responsive to changing professional needs; committed to innovative delivery of instruction, resulting in improved student learning; and committed to effective use of technology. Teaching assignments will include undergraduate courses taught on the main campus, online, or at off-campus sites within our region. Job Description Typical duties include but are not limited to: Teaching assigned undergraduate general education Humanities courses, upper-level interdisciplinary "Issues" courses (e.g., environment, science, technology, politics, etc.), and/or the program's service-learning and sustainability course, IDS 3300 Foundations of Civic Engagement. Planning and teaching the assigned course(s). Preparing syllabi and instructional materials; coordinating lectures and tests. Mentoring students. Using the Canvas teaching platform to manage courses. Contributing to course and/or curriculum development, if applicable. Functioning as an effective, active, and collegial team member.
Other duties:
Performing other job-related duties as assigned.
Additional Job Description Minimum Qualifications:
Master's degree in relevant discipline.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience teaching at the university level.

Possessing the knowledge of general written standards and procedures utilized, and having the ability to read, interpret, and follow procedural and policy manual related to the job tasks. Applying effective techniques to create working relationships with others to achieve common goals; successfully communicating and collaborating with others to achieve goals.
