Position Description The Department of Political Science at Georgia State University invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin Spring 2027. We seek a scholar whose research focuses on Race and Ethnic Politics within the subfield of American Politics. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to teach courses in Race and Ethnic politics at the undergraduate, M.A., and PhD levels, as well as other courses in their area of expertise. Required Experience Required Education A Ph.D. in Political Science or a closely related field by time of appointment Preferred Qualifications/Experience Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Demonstrated knowledge of race/ethnic politics through graduate education, dissertation research, or prior scholarly work.

Ability to teach undergraduate or graduate courses in political science, race/ethnic politics, statistics, research methods, or related topics as evidenced in a teaching statement, course materials for past or future courses, and/or a teaching portfolio.

Evidence of research productivity in race/ethnic politics or a related subfield, such as manuscripts under review, conference papers, peer-reviewed publications, and/or grant-seeking activity.
