Job Description

DESCRIPTION
Thomas University, an independent, not-for-profit, institution of higher education in Thomasville, Georgia with undergraduate and graduate programs invites applicants for the position of Assistant or Associate Professor of Education. The specialization is open but should reflect one of the disciplines represented in the division. The position requires teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, both on-campus and online, as well as scholarship, and service responsibilities. Reporting to the Division Chair, the position is a campus-based faculty appointment. Preferred start is January 2027 but an August 2027 start may be considered for exceptional candidates.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Earned doctorate in a discipline represented within the division. Minimum of three years of K-12 experience. Demonstrated experience with curriculum development, program assessment, and accreditation. Expertise with both in-person and online instruction. Experience leading academic programs Experience supervising candidates in clinical experiences. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exhibit good judgment in making decisions concurrent with University policy.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in a formal academic leadership role (e.g. program director, department chair, etc.). Experience leading educator preparation program(s) with active PK-12 school partnerships. Comprehensive awareness of current issues facing PK-12 education. Experience managing programmatic accreditation.
