Job Description

Aurora University seeks talented adjunct faculty who are passionate about teaching and learning. Adjunct faculty are qualified part-time instructors offered teaching opportunities based on course demand and staffing. Physical Education part-time faculty members support student learning by providing engaging, inclusive, and meaningful movement experiences that promote physical fitness, skill development, personal well-being, and lifelong participation in physical activity. AU offers a variety of activity-based courses, including dance, yoga, and self-defense. Teaching Responsibilities This position reports to the Program Coordinator of Physical Education and will be responsible for teaching one or more physical education activity courses during the academic year. Responsibilities include planning and facilitating safe, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate learning experiences; assessing student participation and progress; maintaining accurate course records; and communicating regularly with students. Opportunities may be available to teach additional courses within the program based on qualifications, areas of expertise, and staffing needs. Minimum Qualifications A master's degree in physical education, parks and recreation, or exercise science. Extensive group exercise experience or group exercise leadership experience required. Candidates who have experience teaching PE/Health are desired. Candidates with any master's degree with an activity-related instructor certification are also encouraged to apply.
