The Saint Mary's College Department of Gender & Women's Studies invites applications for an Assistant Professor beginning Fall 2027. We are particularly interested in applicants who demonstrate expertise in transnational or global perspectives. Candidates with potential to contribute to interdisciplinary programs such as Global Studies; Environmental Studies; the Latine Studies Interdisciplinary Pathway; First Year Seminars; and/or the Writing Proficiency programs are preferred. The department emphasizes excellence in writing and student engagement in research, advocacy, and internships, as well as inclusive pedagogy. Established in 1844, Saint Mary's College was founded and is sponsored by the Sisters of the Holy Cross. Teaching, Research, and Service Expectations:
3:3 teaching load that includes: Introduction to Gender & Women's Studies, Transnational Feminisms, and upper-level electives in the candidate's area of expertise. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to teach Feminist Theory and Feminist Methods as part of the department's regular course rotation. The successful candidate will maintain an active program of scholarship leading to peer-reviewed publication, with transnational or global perspectives particularly welcome. The successful candidate will contribute to departmental and College service, interdisciplinary programs. Qualifications Ph.D. in Gender & Women's Studies or an interdisciplinary/related field with graduate-level certification or experience in Gender & Women's Studies. ABD candidates considered. Evidence of effective undergraduate teaching.
