Role:
The Department of Marketing, Sports Business & Construction Management in the Haile College of Business at Northern Kentucky University invites applications for a non-tenure-track, full-time Assistant Teaching Professor, to begin Spring 2027 (Fall 2027 considered).
The successful candidate will:
develop course material aligned with ACCE accreditation standards teach a full undergraduate load of eight sections annually contribute to service commitments participate in construction management industry advisory board meetings attend employment/career fairs support the recruitment of students and potential future colleagues. Active involvement in the life of the College and the university - including attendance at program, department, and college meetings - and continued involvement in the construction industry outside the university are expected. Qualifications Preferred candidates will hold a Master's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a closely related field at the time of appointment. Candidates with an undergraduate degree in Construction Management and a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) will also be considered. The candidate should have at least 10 years of direct experience in the construction industry and be able to develop course material aligned with accreditation standards and teach undergraduate courses. Teaching topics for consideration include construction management, construction safety, building codes, mechanical and electrical systems for construction, structural analysis, estimating, scheduling, land planning and development, construction layout, and heavy/civil construction. Additional areas will be considered based on the individual's background. OSHA certification or the demonstrated ability and willingness to obtain it is preferred, to support instruction in Construction Safety.
