Send job Job Details The Department of Brain and Cognitive Sciences (BCS) at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), located in Cambridge MA, invites applications for a faculty position at the level of tenure-track Assistant Professor beginning July 1, 2027, or as soon thereafter as possible. We are conducting a search across all areas of brain and cognitive science, potentially including computation, cognitive science, or experimental neuroscience in nonhuman animals. A PhD degree in neuroscience, biology, physics, electrical engineering, computer science, or another relevant field is required by the start of employment. The Department of Brain and Cognitive Sciences offers supportive mentorship to junior faculty, an exceptional environment for scientific inquiry, and a strong commitment to an inclusive, welcoming culture. Faculty duties include conducting original scholarly research, teaching courses at the graduate and undergraduate level in brain and cognitive sciences, and mentoring students. The normal teaching load is 1.5 subjects per year.
