OPPORTUNITY OVERVIEW

The faculty member will work collaboratively with Division leadership, faculty, and multidisciplinary clinical teams to advance the clinical and educational missions of the Division of Rheumatology. The position will primarily focus on the delivery of high-quality outpatient rheumatology care, with opportunities to participate in disease-specific clinical programs, inpatient consultation, teaching, and other academic activities based on the candidate's interests and experience. POSITION DESCRIPTION

Basic Function Work in collaboration with the Directors of Clinical and Research Operations, and other Divisional and Departmental leadership to advance the clinical, research and education missions of the division, including (but not limited to): the sustained delivery of high-quality patient care; development of clinical programs in this arena; and delivery of medical education to post-doctoral fellows, residents, interns and medical students. Essential Job Functions Provide high-quality clinical care to adult patients in the outpatient setting at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, within general rheumatology and other Division's disease-specific centers, typically 6.5-8 half-days per week. Perform non-visit clinical responsibilities associated with assigned clinical effort, including patient triage, between-visit care, e-consults, review of results and clinical messages, and other related patient care activities. Participate in the inpatient rheumatology consultation service at The Johns Hopkins Hospital and Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, typically approximately four weeks per year. Participate in the education and supervision of rheumatology fellows, residents, medical students, and other trainees. Opportunities may be available to teach on the general medicine service at The Johns Hopkins Hospital and Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center. Participate in triage of adult patient transfer and consultation requests through the Hopkins Access Line as part of assigned clinical responsibilities. Contribute to the ongoing development and growth of clinical programs within the Division. Participate in divisional, departmental, and institutional activities appropriate to the faculty role. Qualifications MD, DO or equivalent medical degree. Completion of an ACGME-accredited Rheumatology fellowship or equivalent training. Board-eligible or board-certified in Rheumatology. Eligible for medical licensure in the State of Maryland. Demonstrated commitment to high-quality, patient-centered clinical care. Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with faculty, trainees, staff and multidisciplinary clinical teams. Interest in teaching and participating in the academic mission of Johns Hopkins Medicine.
