Posting Details Job Posting Information Posting Number F151 Position Title Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice (Forensic Science) Rank Assistant Professor 9115 Regular (PIN) or Long Term Contractual Faculty Regular Desired Start Date 08/23/2023 Open Date 08/17/2022 Close Date Open Until Filled Yes Duties and Responsibilities Teaches twelve (12) undergraduate hours (4 courses) per semester. Engages in multiple service related activities such as student advising, including mentoring and service at the departmental, school, college, professional, and community levels; and actively engages in scholarly or creative activities and/or strong demonstration of emerging record thereof including pursuit or external grants. This is a full-time tenure track faculty position to start Fall 2023. Conditions of Employment Offer of employment is contingent upon successful completion of due diligence background check and verification of credential. Proof of U.S. citizenship or eligibility for U.S. employment (Immigration Control Act of 1986). Please be advised, COVID -19 vaccinations are not required but encouraged for all eligible students, faculty and staff returning to USM institutions. This protocol is subject to change. Experience The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years of experience teaching in the area of forensic science; publications in relevant forensic science peer-reviewed journals, and active memberships in relevant forensic science organizations. Applicants should be strongly committed to excellence in teaching, student advising, and student mentoring. Preference will be given to candidates with evidence of teaching effectiveness at the undergraduate level, evidence of academic scholarship and research ability/potential to publish in peer-reviewed academic journals, the potential for securing external grants, and evidence of building community partnerships. Candidates must be committed to working with diverse populations and be conversant in multicultural issues.
