Assistant Professor in Business Administration
Job Description
Cottey College, a private liberal arts and sciences college for women, invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track positionBusiness Administration, with the possibility of starting in January or August 2027. Ideal candidates would have the ability to teach arange of courses in business, most especially Operation Management and Entrepreneurship courses. The successful candidate will have a recordof effective teaching and have a doctoral degree or M.B.A. ideally in hand by the start of the contract. Highly qualified ABDs will also beconsidered. We especially encourage applications from candidates with significant professional experience in operations management,entrepreneurship, or related fields who are interested in transitioning from industry practice into teaching. Practitioner expertise bringsreal-world relevance to the classroom, and we welcome candidates who may not have a traditional academic path but bring deep functionalknowledge, industry connections, and a passion for mentoring the next generation of business leaders. Typical teaching loads forfaculty are three courses per semester. Cottey faculty also engage in activities related to scholarly vitality, advise and mentor students,sponsor student organizations, engage in service, and participate in the life of the college. This position also includes opportunities tocontribute to the development of the Clark Institute for Women in Business. Faculty in the Business department are expected to collaboratewith their colleagues as well as with students inside and outside the classroom, molding experiential learning and mentoring opportunities. Cottey College, located in Nevada, Missouri, has offered women the opportunity to learn and grow since 1884.
