Job Description

The Department of Philosophy at Davidson College invites applications for a full-time tenure track Assistant Professor of Philosophy to begin July 1, 2027.
Area of Specialization:
Any area within value theory, broadly construed.
Area of Competence:
Open, with some preference for candidates who complement teaching strengths of the department. We seek candidates who are highly committed to excellence in undergraduate teaching and scholarly research. A willingness and ability to contribute to interdisciplinary programs such as Philosophy, Politics, and Economics (PPE), Writing 101, or the Humanities Program are desirable. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in philosophy before the start of the appointment. Applicants should submit a cover letter, CV, writing sample, teaching and research statement, and contact information for three references who have agreed to provide letters of recommendation.
