Job Description:
SUNY Broome Community College is seeking qualified candidates for a full-time, in-person, temporary appointment as Assistant Professor in Business Information Technology. Ten (10) month salary is spread over twelve (12) months to allow for consistent, uninterrupted pay periods. Benefits include, but are not limited to: Medical, Dental, and optional Vision and Flexible Benefit Plan. The department offers an A.A.S. in Business Information Management, and an A.A.S. in Web Development and Management. The department also currently offers three certificates (Office Administration, Social Media, and Web Development) and various microcredentials. Expertise in web development, social and digital media, MS Office, or AI tools for business applications is desirable. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Deliver engaging, student-centered instruction in a variety of Business Information Technology courses, with a focus on web development, AI tools for business applications, and social and digital media. Teach and develop curriculum related to Business Information Technology. Collaborate with faculty and industry partners to ensure curriculum remains aligned with workforce needs and emerging technologies. Develop and update course syllabi, assignments, and assessments in alignment with department goals and current industry standards. Engage in outreach, recruitment, and enrollment events and activities. Participate in department meetings, curriculum development, and college-wide initiatives. Stay current with emerging technologies and developments related to Business Information Technology. Engage in professional development activities to enhance teaching skills and remain knowledgeable in areas of expertise.
Requirements:
Master's degree in an appropriate field with either three (3) years of teaching experience or an appropriate combination of teaching, relevant work experience, and scholarly activity. Additional coursework in an appropriate field is desirable. Must be eligible to work in the United States without a visa sponsorship.
Additional Information:
The annual minimum salary for Assistant Professor is $58,276. The salary will increase to $59,995 on September 1, 2026. Salary offer will be based on the candidate's qualifications and experience.
