Job Description:
SUNY Broome Community College is seeking qualified candidates for a full-time, 10-month, tenure-track appointment as Assistant Professor/Instructor in the Civil Technology Department. This faculty opportunity comes with an academic work schedule from August to May with time off to enjoy the summer months. Ten (10) month salary is spread over twelve (12) months to allow for consistent, uninterrupted pay periods. As an Assistant Professor/Instructor, you'll be responsible for teaching undergraduate courses and contributing to the department's outreach activities. Requirements:
The Assistant Professor position requires a Master's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field with either three (3) years of teaching experience or an appropriate combination of teaching, relevant work experience, and scholarly activity. Additional coursework in an appropriate field is desirable. The Instructor position requires a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a related field, with work experience in an area appropriate to the teaching field strongly preferred; approved Master's Degree required within four years for continuing appointment. Work experience in an area appropriate to the teaching field strongly preferred. The successful candidate will have a strong background in surveying, AutoCAD3D Civil, and REVIT. Registration as a Professional Engineer or Licensed Land Surveyor preferred, but not required. Applicants should be comfortable in the learner-centered classroom and have a strong commitment to the community college mission. Working knowledge of the latest technology such as Drones, GPS systems and incorporating them into the classroom. Participate in and support departmental initiatives. Must be eligible to work in the United States without a visa sponsorship.
Additional Information:
The annual minimum salary for Assistant Professor is $58,276. The salary will increase to $59,995 on September 1, 2026. The annual minimum salary for Instructor is $53,445. The salary will increase to $55,022 on September 1, 2026. Salary offer will be based on the candidate's qualifications and experience.
