SUMMARY The Department of Kinesiology, Sport Studies, and Physical Education (KSSPE) at SUNY Brockport invites applications for a two-year Postdoctoral Fellow through SUNY's Promoting Recruitment, Opportunity, Diversity, Inclusion and Growth plus (PRODiG+) program. The PRODiG+ Fellowship is designed with two primary goals: (1) increasing the number and share of excellent diverse faculty committed to advancing the ideals of diversity, equity, and inclusion; and (2) strengthen the pathway for retention and support of these candidates. The PRODiG+ Fellowship is a two-year temporary appointment with a reduced teaching load designed to support the Fellow in developing their teaching and scholarly portfolios. During the two-year fellowship, the Fellow will teach a range of Sport Psychology and Sport Sociology courses, with a teaching load of two courses per semester. In addition to teaching responsibilities, the Fellow will have opportunities to contribute to departmental committees and advise students. The Fellow will engage in scholarly research and is encouraged to pursue external funding through grant applications. Throughout the Fellowship, the Fellow will receive support from a senior faculty mentor, professional development funding, and valuable new faculty orientation and onboarding resources. Upon successful completion of the Fellowship, the Fellow may be eligible for appointment to a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the KSSPE Department through an internal promotion process. The Department of Kinesiology, Sport Studies, and Physical Education (KSSPE) maintains the largest student enrollment on campus and houses four undergraduate majors (Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Physical Education, and Sport Management). The department has experienced significant student growth due to its commitment to quality teaching, laboratory-based learning, and consistent scholarship. JOB FUNCTIONS
Essential Functions:
Scholarly Activity (50%) Develops and maintains an active program of scholarship appropriate for a tenure-track faculty member. Produces scholarly products such as peer-reviewed publications, conference presentations, and/or grant activity. Teaching (40%) Teaches two 3-credit classes each semester (2/2 teaching load) in the areas of Sport Psychology and Sport Sociology. For these purposes, a course refers to a 3-credit course or equivalent. Provides academic advisement to students in the KSSPE Department. Provides a supportive and inclusive classroom environment. Service (10%) Participates in departmental, college, University, and professional service.

Previous college-level teaching experience Previous record of publications Previous records of scholarly presentations Preference will be given to candidates who are: Current SUNY students, alumni, and/or Fellows. From a low-income background (e.g., Pell-eligible as undergraduates), were first-generation college students (students whose parents have not earned a bachelor's degree), have overcome adversity, are AmeriCorps alumni, or are veterans.
