Job Description
Associate or Full Professor Services Management Area Cornell SC Johnson College of Business, Cornell University The Cornell SC Johnson College of Business invites applicants for a tenured Associate Professor or Full Professor position in our Services Management area, with a school affiliation in the Cornell Peter and Stephanie Nolan School of Hotel Administration. The start date of the position is July 1, 2027 or an agreed-upon date. The position will be based in Ithaca, NY. The primary responsibilities of the position include maintaining a distinguished, high-impact research program in services management at the interface of marketing, operations, and analytics, with research that has the potential to influence both academic scholarship and managerial practice in hospitality and service industries. The successful candidate is expected to teach at the undergraduate, professional master's, and/or doctoral levels in the Nolan School's programs and as needed across the SC Johnson College of Business, contribute to curriculum development in services management, and mentor doctoral students and junior faculty as appropriate for rank. The position also includes service to the Area, School, and College, as well as active engagement with industry leaders and dissemination of cutting-edge ideas through venues such as executive education, practitioner-oriented publications, and collaboration with Cornell hospitality and service industry partners. The ideal candidate will possess a Ph.D. in marketing, operations, information systems or a closely related field, an established record of research excellence consistent with appointment at the tenured Associate or Full Professor level, and demonstrated ability to teach effectively at the undergraduate and graduate levels. A research focus in hospitality is desirable, but a focus on service industries is required, along with the ability to engage productively with hospitality and service industry leaders and to contribute to the intellectual community of the Services Management area and the Nolan School. Additionally, faculty have the opportunity to teach across multiple schools within the College of Business. The Cornell Peter and Stephanie Nolan School of Hotel Administration at Cornell University is the top-ranked hospitality management program worldwide, with undergraduate, masters, andPh.D. programs. The Nolan School of Hotel Administration has approximately 800undergraduate and 200 graduate students. Founded in 1922, the Nolan School is an AACSB accredited business school, with a resident faculty of 65 and over 15,000 alumni worldwide.
