Dec 08, 2026 at 11:59 PM Eastern Time Description Position Description The College of Business at Stony Brook University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track or tenured faculty position in Finance at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level, beginning Fall 2027. The teaching load and research support are comparable to reputable public research institutions. Salary is commensurate with qualifications, rank, publication record, experience, and relevant expertise. We especially encourage applications from experienced scholars with excellent publication records in premier finance journals, particularly those on the Financial Times journal list. Qualifications Required Qualifications:
Candidates must hold a Ph. D. in Finance or a closely related field from an AACSB accredited institution. Candidates must possess at least three years of experience as a tenure-track/tenured faculty member or a researcher at a reputable U.S. institution. Assistant Professor candidates should demonstrate a promising research pipeline with strong potential for publication in top-tier journals; Associate and Full Professor candidates must present an established record of publications in the highest quality finance and business journals, particularly those on the Financial Times journal list.
Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated record of sustained research productivity and a strong external reputation in the field. Proven ability to teach finance courses effectively across multiple levels (undergraduate, MBA, master's, etc.) Evidence of prior leadership experience or a clear willingness to contribute to College's initiatives, faculty governance, and the broader academic mission of the college.
