The Department of Statistics & Applied Technology in the Getty College of Arts & Sciences at Ohio Northern University welcomes applicants for a tenure-track, assistant professor position in Statistics. We seek a talented individual who is (1) passionate about teaching foundational introductory courses to students in a diverse group of programs across four colleges (Arts & Sciences, Business, Engineering, and Pharmacy), (2) excited to teach upper-division courses geared toward majors in Statistics and minors in Applied Statistics and Data Analytics, (3) committed to scholarship involving undergraduates, and (4) deeply invested in student success. A terminal degree in Statistics, Biostatistics, Data Science, Data Analytics, or a closely related field is required. ABD candidates will be considered if all degree requirements are completed before September 1, 2027. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, as well as the interest and ability to mentor students both inside and outside the classroom. Job Description :

The successful candidate will teach a variety of undergraduate Statistics courses. Ohio Northern faculty in the College of Arts & Sciences teach 23-25 credit hours per year. Additional responsibilities include advising undergraduate students, scholarship and mentoring undergraduate research, and sharing university, college, and department service responsibilities. In your statement of teaching philosophy, please discuss how you would or have supported a classroom of students with a broad cross-section of differing levels of academic preparation.
