The Department of Accounting and Finance invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Finance, beginning August 2027. Preference will be given to candidates with teaching and research interests in financial planning and wealth management. This position is a full-time, renewable 9-month appointment. Teach and develop undergraduate and/or graduate-level courses in general finance, financial planning and wealth management Conduct high-quality scholarly research leading to publications in high-quality peer-reviewed finance journals Provide service to the department, college, university, profession, and community Contribute to the continued development and advancement of the department's Financial Planning Concentration and related initiatives Doctorate degree in Finance from an AACSB accredited university, or in a related discipline, earned by the date of appointment Preferred Qualifications CFP® (Certified Financial Planner) certification Evidence of, or strong potential for, publication in high-quality peer-reviewed journals Experience integrating sophisticated AI agent skills into teaching and research Strong potential to contribute to the Department of Accounting and Finance programs and initiatives, as well as to the missions of the Schmidthorst College of Business and Bowling Green State University Application Materials Required Cover letter Full curriculum vitae Teaching statement Research statement, including examples of published/working papers Names and contact information of three professional references Unofficial transcripts of highest degree earned are required for candidates invited for in-person interviews.
