University Overview Affiliated with the Evangelical Friends-Eastern Region denomination, Malone strives to provide an education that produces graduates witha love of truth and a vibrant, mature faith. Our intent is that students attain the wisdom, knowledge, and skills necessary to serve,engage, and transform the communities in which they live and work. • Understand and critically engage those bodies of knowledge and cultural influences thathave shaped the world. Understand the biblical, historical, and theological foundations of the Christian faith. Thinkcritically and creatively and communicate effectively in multiple contexts. Attain expertise in at least one profession or academicdiscipline and lay the foundation for meaningful work or further studies at the graduate level. Explore the implications of theChristian faith for all areas of living, including intellectual, spiritual, and community pursuits. II. University Expectations
• A personal commitment to Jesus Christ and express their Christian testimony in a church. In addition, all faculty must affirm Malone's Doctrinal Statement and agree to live inkeeping with Malone's Community Agreement .
•A desire to work with a diverse community of students and employees who represent various cultures, backgrounds, abilities, ethnicities,political views, and expressions of Christian faith. A commitment to integrating faith and learning within the academicdiscipline. Job Summary The Assistant Professor in the Division of Business andTechnologies will provide high-quality instruction in economics, finance, and other business courses as assigned, while fostering studentengagement, leveraging their expertise to teach, facilitate discussions, and assess student performance. This position supports thedivision's commitment to academic excellence, faith integration, and student development within a Christ-centered learning environment. TheAssistant Professor reports to the Dean of the Division of Business and Technologies. IV. Essential Duties andResponsibilities Teach business and economics courses in alignment with the university's mission and learningobjectives Develop and implement effective instructional strategies that promote student engagement Integrate Christianfaith and biblical principles intentionally within the academic discipline and classroom environment Provide timely and constructivefeedback on student work Maintain availability to students through regular office hours Maintain accurate records ofattendance, grades, and student performance Utilize the university's learning management system (Moodle) for coursemanagement Serve as a Christian role model to students, both inside and outside the classroom Collaborate with faculty andstaff to support departmental goals and initiatives Engage in ongoing professional development and scholarly activity appropriate tothe discipline Advise and mentor students in academic and professional matters. Participate in divisional meetings,assessment activities, and program review processes Communicate effectively and courteously with others, including employees,students, and the public, in a spirit of teamwork, respect, and service Demonstrate experience working cross culturally withrespect, appreciation and humility Maintain professionalism and adhere to university policies Other duties as assigned andappropriate to the subject area and program needs V. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Verified ability toteach assigned courses, which may include Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Business Finance, International Finance, and other relatedcourses. Deliver engaging lessons, adapting to various learning styles. Professional experience in the field related to thesubject being taught Familiarity with online and hybrid teaching modalities Experience that validates a strong commitment toexcellence in teaching, professional development and scholarly engagement Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diversepopulations Strong communication and interpersonal skills Commitment to the Christian faith and the university's mission,foundational principles, and educational goals. Commitment to the integration of faith and learning in the academic discipline. VI. Education and Experience Ph. D. in business or a closely related field, or similar terminal degree (suchas a D.B.A) preferred; candidates with a Master's degree and significant experience will be considered Demonstrated expertise insubject matter and commitment to student learning Ability to teach economics, finance, and other business courses is required;previous teaching experience in higher education is strongly preferred VII.
