Position Justification Position Information Position Title Visiting Assistant Professor of Biology Unit Name Sciences and Mathematics Salary Grade Faculty Number of Months 9 months Full-time or Part-time Full-Time Hours per week 40 Annual Salary or Hourly Rate Range Essential Duties Teach introductory courses and their labs, specifically Human Anatomy and Physiology, first-year Biology for majors, first-year Biology for non-majors, and ideally General Microbiology as well. Minimum Qualifications Applicants must have at least a master's degree in the field on or before January 1, 2027; PhD or ABD preferred. Candidates with teaching experience will be given highest consideration. Job Description Summary The successful candidate will teach introductory courses and their labs, specifically Human Anatomy and Physiology, first-year Biology for majors, first-year Biology for non-majors, and ideally General Microbiology as well, although teaching General Microbiology is not an absolute requirement. If the candidate is qualified to do so, they will also get the chance to teach upper-year courses in their area of expertise. There will be no advising or committee work. Research involving undergraduates will be encouraged but not required.
