NA FA Job Summary/Basic Function Wright State University is inviting applications for two tenure-track Assistant Professor positions in Chemistry, one with research expertise in biochemistry and another in polymer chemistry to begin on August 1, 2027. The successful candidates are expected to establish fundamental and applied research in areas including but not limited to (i) bio-directed synthesis of small molecules, precursors, polymers, or biofilm-based materials (ii) bio-based or polymer-based self-healing composites, (iii) polymer grafted nanoparticle assemblies, or (iv) polymers or biomaterials with properties such as additive manufacturing compatibility, thermal stability, high sensing capability, or resilience to extreme environments. The successful candidates will join a dedicated faculty and build new directions in the Chemistry B.S. and M.S. programs and interdisciplinary Ph.D. programs. Expectations include establishing a highly competitive research program and directing research of undergraduate and graduate students. They will support undergraduate and graduate instruction in their respective areas of expertise as well as teach first year and second year chemistry classes.
