Position Description Title:

Assistant or Associate Professor of Finance Department:

School of Business Purpose:

The Dickinson School of Business invites applications for a fulltime professor who can teach finance courses at both undergraduate and graduate levels. The ideal candidate will also be able to teach accounting courses or other courses offered through the School of Business. The candidate should maximize utilization of our new finance lab, integrate financial software (currently that is a Bloomberg terminal) in the finance courses, and provide leadership for the School's Student Managed Investment Fund. Primary teaching responsibilities include undergraduate courses in personal finance, principles of finance, investments, portfolio analysis, financial management, international finance and the possible creation of new finance courses in the curriculum. The candidate may also teach an MBA course in financial management. Faculty members are expected to be involved in professional and community activities for the purposes of scholarship, professional development, student advising & mentorship, recruiting, and service.

Essential Functions:

• Teaching finance courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Depending on qualifications, teaching other courses in the School of Business and University is possible.
• Student advising and mentoring.
• University committee service as assigned.
• School of Business duties as assigned.

Other Duties:

• Assisting with the assessment process and accreditation reporting for the Finance major.
• Working with Admissions to recruit students to the Business School and University.
• Networking within the community to help students connect with industry.

• Ability to teach courses in finance.

• Willingness to teach some online courses.

Required:

• A Master's degree in finance.
• Be proficient in office technology, office software (including various Microsoft tools), finance technology (e.g. Bloomberg, etc.) and classroom presentation software.
• Sufficient mobility and physical stamina to teach classes and to travel as needed.

Preferred:

• A terminal degree in Finance.
• An additional 18 graduate hours in accounting.
• Successful teaching experience at the university level and industry experience.
• Experience with Bloomberg Terminal and/or other finance software.

Special Requirements:

• Must be a member of a local evangelical
• Christian church.
• Evangelical is a broad term referring to segment within Christianity which maintains the authority of the Bible and the belief in salvation by faith in Jesus alone.
