Job Description

The Department of Biology and Neuroscience in the College of Sciences at DeSales University invites applications for a full-time position in biology at the assistant professor rank (tenure-track) or assistant professor of practice rank (non-tenure track) with expertise in human anatomy and physiology to begin August 2027. The successful candidate will hold a Ph.D. (or ABD) in Human Anatomy, Human Physiology, or a related field, or possess a terminal clinical or allied health degree by the time of appointment. Teaching expectations include contributing to our current offerings in anatomy and physiology (lecture and labs), as well as contributing to our biology curriculum and developing courses in the candidate's area of expertise. Additionally, tenure-track faculty are expected to develop an active research program that will include undergraduate students. Professor of practice faculty are expected to remain current in their respective field through participation in scholarly activity reflective of their degree. Salary will be commensurate with the candidate's experience and training. The position will report to the Department Chair of Biology and Neuroscience. The Department of Biology and Neuroscience is located in the Priscilla Payne Hurd Science Center and Campbell Hall. Our facilities are well-equipped for cell/tissue culture, fluorescence microscopy, small animal, molecular biology/genetics, microbiology, and neuroscience research. Our Gambet Center for Business and Healthcare houses a gross anatomy lab. University endowment funds are available to provide start-up support for new faculty and continued support for research endeavors.
