Job Description
Anderson University and the College of Education invite applications for a full-time, nine-month position in the College of Education toserve as Assistant/Associate Professor of Education. The primary teaching responsibility for this position will be in the Master of Arts inTeaching (Elementary Education) and Post-Traditional Elementary Education programs. This faculty member will also teach across otherprograms in the College of Education including the Master of Education program, Doctor of Education program, and Traditional UndergraduateTeacher Education programs. These programs offer courses across the Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters. Ability for summer teaching isstrongly preferred. This full-time faculty position requires an earned terminal degree in the field of education (PhD or EdD) andrelevant experience in PK-12 education; prior experience in higher education is preferred, though not required. A candidate for thisposition will be expected to demonstrate potential for teaching excellence in face to face, online (synchronous and asynchronous) and hyflexsettings, extensive professional experience, scholarly activity, and an interest in serving the profession. This faculty member will alsosupport efforts to expand the MAT/Post-Traditional initial certification programs within the College of Education. Prior experience inprogram development and recruitment is preferable, but not required. The ideal candidate will also have the ability to serve as adissertation chair and/or committee member for doctoral students in the College of Education's EdD in Leadership and Learning. Review ofapplications will begin in April 2026 for a preferred August 2026 start date. The College of Education enrolls 500+ students, employsover 15 full-time faculty members, and is supported by 8 full-time staff members, in addition to part-time faculty and staff members. AllGraduate programs in the College of Education are based out of the University Center in Greenville, SC and include multiple teachingmodalities (i.e. face-to-face, online asynchronous/synchronous, and hyflex). Teaching responsibilities at AU's Undergraduate main campus inAnderson, SC may also be assigned as needed. Faculty inthe Professional Path focus on teaching and learning and are evaluated on mission fit, teaching and learning, and service; and they are ableto be promoted through professorial ranks. After six years of exemplary service, faculty on the Professional Path become eligible formulti-year contracts. Faculty on tenure track focus initially on teaching and learning, but they are evaluated on mission fit, teaching andlearning, service, and scholarship. Tenure-track faculty promote through professorial ranks and are eligible for tenure status in yearsix.
