Summary:

Charleston Southern University invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position (Assistant orAssociate Professor) in the College of Education beginning August 2026 or January 2027. Charleston Southern seeks candidates who areprofessing Christians and are committed to excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service. They should support the goals of a strongliberal arts education and be willing to explore the integration of faith and learning with students. Rank is commensurate with experience. The successful candidate will teach a secondary biology methods course and a broad range of education courses. The candidate must beable to collaborate with teacher education faculty to maintain program excellence and coherence, develop and maintain an active researchagenda, and have a record of exemplary experience as a classroom teacher. All courses are taught on campus. Opportunities to teach in theMEd and EdD programs may be available.

Responsibilities:

Teach 24 credit hours per academicyear Supervise students during clinical practice Develop/revise the curriculum to reflect current trends in teachereducation programs Serve as an advisor to CoE majors Recruit prospective students Serve on college and universitycommittees Attend and participate in departmental and university functions.

Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:

Active teaching certificate in biology in grades 9-12. Ph. D. or Ed. D. in Education with three years ofclassroom experience teaching secondary biology. Experience in leadership and/or middle grades is preferred.
