Job Description

Working Title Assistant Professor of Business Analytics and Information Systems Posting Number F01926P Department NSU-Management Information Systems Physical Location of Position (City) Aberdeen Posting Text Northern State University's School of Business is accepting applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Business Analytics. The successful candidate will support the School's newly established Analytics major and contribute to the School's existing Information Systems major. •
Qualifications:
Candidates holding a Ph.D. or D.B.A. in Business Analytics, Information Systems, Management Information Systems, Decision Sciences, Data Science, Computer Science, or a closely related field will be considered for a tenure-track appointment. Candidates from related quantitative business or technology fields may also be considered if their teaching and research background demonstrates expertise in analytics, information systems, business intelligence, data management, or applied technology. Applicants with a master's degree in one of these areas will be considered for non-tenure-track positions. •
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be able to teach undergraduate information systems and analytics-related courses in both face-to-face and online settings. Potential teaching areas include management information systems, database management systems, business intelligence, systems analysis and design, data mining, and artificial intelligence in business. These courses support both the School's newly established Analytics major and the existing Information Systems major. Depending on expertise, interest, and program needs, the successful candidate may have opportunities to develop additional analytics-related coursework, such as data visualization or other courses that support the continued growth of Northern's School of Business. Additional responsibilities include academic advising and mentoring, scholarly activity, and service to the university, profession, and community.
