We are seeking a chemist to join our faculty. The ideal candidate will have graduate levelcoursework in chemistry, biochemistry, or related field and have demonstrated excellence in undergraduate teaching and mentoring. Thesuccessful candidate will teach undergraduate courses, advise and mentor students, and participate in service to the University and broadercommunity. This position is for a faculty member who values excellent undergraduate teaching, as there is very little focus on scholarship.

Essential Functions:

Teach undergraduate courses in chemistry for majors and non-majors, as assignedaccording to divisional needs and the candidate's expertise. Develop and implement effective student-centered teaching strategiesfor lectures and laboratory experiences. Advise and mentor student in academic planning and professionaldevelopment. Participate in curriculum development and ongoing assessment of courses and programs, contributing to a culture ofcontinuous improvement and alignment with institutional learning outcomes.

Required Qualifications:

Demonstrated ability or strong promise to teach effective lectures and laboratories at the undergraduate level in chemistry or a closelyrelated field. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work effectively with college students inadvising, mentoring, and classroom settings. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build constructive relationships withstudents, staff, faculty colleagues, and community partners. Organizational and time-management skills sufficient to balanceteaching, advising, scholarship, and service responsibilities. Commitment to mentoring and supporting students from diversebackgrounds and experiences.

Education:

Required:

Master's degree (at least 18 graduate hours)in chemistry, biochemistry, or a closely related field. Candidates should have the ability to teach biochemistry and other upperdivision courses as needed.

Preferred:

Ph. D. in chemistry, biochemistry, or a closely related field. Additional training orexperience in laboratory, field-based, or interdisciplinary instruction. Candidates with experience with writing and acquiringgrants.
