The Department of Human Sciences is one of six academic units in the College of Health Sciences, and the Interior Design program is one of three and the largest undergraduate programs in the department with 120 students. The department offers a B.S., B.A., and a minor in Interior Design, and holds accreditation from the Council for Interior Design Accreditation ( CIDA ) and the National Association of Schools of Art and Design ( NASAD ). The primary responsibilities of this position include teaching undergraduate courses in the Interior Design BA/BS program. Courses will include teaching AutoCAD, Revit, Enscape, and SketchUp software, foundation courses in applied design theory, and other studio and lecture courses as needed for the program. The appointment will include a 4/4 teaching load during the fall and spring semesters.

A minimum of five years of full-time experience in professional practice work or a combination of professional practice and university-level teaching experience is required. The demonstrated experience should be in interior design, architecture or a related discipline. Proficiency and ability to teach across a variety of design technology as noted in the position details is required and should be demonstrated in the candidate's professional portfolio sample.
