Job Description

LeTourneau University, a vibrant and growing interdenominational, evangelical Christian university, known for high-quality STEM programsthat attract students of outstanding academic ability, invites applications and nominations for the position of Assistant/AssociateProfessor of Communication, Department of Humanities & Social Sciences. This faculty member will play a central role in leading anddeveloping the University's Strategic Communication and Digital Media major while also engaging students across a wide array of science &technical disciplines. The successful candidate will join the Communication program and will teach a variety of courses across thecurriculum. They will contribute to ongoing program development, student mentorship, and assessment efforts while helping strengthen thevisibility and impact of both the program and Humanities and Social Sciences department. This is a 9-month full-time, tenure-trackposition with a 12-credit teaching load per semester for the fall and spring semesters. Classes and other responsibilities are conductedprimarily on weekdays but may include some evening classes and independent studies. Attendance is required at typical faculty andadministrative meetings, including graduation.
Responsibilities:
Teach a full-time load of undergraduate communicationcourses including our General Education "Conversation and Community" course, including preparation of course materials and assessments.

Teaching responsibilities may include courses such as Public Relations Campaigns, Digital Media Storytelling, Communication andTechnological Change, Mass Communication and Society, Communication Theory, Technical Writing, Intro to Speech, and other courses alignedwith the candidate's expertise and program needs. Participate actively in the University learning community, including committees,seminars, and department meetings Connect with students through advising and success programs Actively engage in retentionand recruitment efforts of students Maintain a commitment to academic scholarship in field of expertise
Qualifications:
Genuine support of LeTourneau University's Faith Statement and Community Covenant and enthusiasm forintegrating faith and learning in the classroom An earned doctorate in Communication Studies, Mass Communication, StrategicCommunication, or a closely related field preferred. ABD candidates nearing completion or master's with significant professional experiencemay also be considered. Demonstrated commitment to integrating faith and learning in ways that educate, mentor, and disciplestudents. Professional experience in communication-related fields, including corporate, nonprofit, governmental, media, or digitalcommunication settings, is highly desirable. A strong desire and enthusiasm for networking and recruiting to grow the Communicationprogram Strong oral and written communication skills The ability to interact effectively and professionally with students,colleagues, and administrators The successful candidate will think creatively and critically about communication education withinthe mission of a Christian Polytechnic University. We are particularly interested in candidates who can envision innovative approaches toteaching effective communication, integrating emerging technologies and media platforms while maintaining a strong foundation.
